The signs and symptoms of hepatitis B could range from mild to severe depending on the severity of the disease and the time of exposure or infection by the hepatitis virus. These symptoms could appear in about a couple of months after exposure to the infection. These are some of the signs and symptoms of hepatitis B virus;

Abdominal pain; this is usually one of the accompanying signs and symptom of the disease and the pain intensity could from mild to severe abdominal pain.

Dark urine; the urine color usually gets darker in the course of the infection which, is one of the signs and symptoms of the disease.

Loss of appetite; anorexia is another symptom as a result of hepatitis B infection.

Nausea and vomiting; Nausea is another accompanying symptom that could be accompanied by vomiting.

Generalized body weakness and fatigue; as a result of this infection, the human body becomes very weak and malaise would follow.

Jaundice; at severe cases your skin gets yellow and the whites of your eyes get yellow as well.

Sometimes you will never see any visible symptoms and could only be detected via some blood tests.



Chronic hepatitis is a progressive disease that could cause hardening of the liver cirrhosis and if not treated liver cancer could occur. So it is very important for one to know and be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of the same such that early detection and interventions could be facilitated.
